Manchester United give team news on Edinson Cavani, Harry Maguire and Mason Greenwood vs Chelsea

Manchester United are hopeful Edinson Cavani, Harry Maguire and Mason Greenwood will be available for their Saturday tea-time kick-off against Chelsea.

Deadline day arrival Cavani only started training with his new teammates on Sunday and Maguire missed the midweek Champions League win at Paris Saint-Germain through injury.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claimed Greenwood had a 'niggle' that sidelined him for the wins over PSG and Newcastle amid reputed reservations over the 19-year-old's tardiness.

"I hope and expect all three of them to be available for selection," Solskjaer said. "Of course, we've got a training session this morning but they've all got a chance, all of them.

"There are different reasons: Edinson wants to tick all the boxes that he's gone through in his programme to be ready and make an impact. His last preparation is going to be today and then I will have a discussion. Yesterday seemed positive with Mason and Harry."

Chelsea have won two, drawn two and lost one from their opening Premier League games and already conceded three goals on three occasions.

United beat Frank Lampard's side home and away in the Premier League last year and in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup but were subdued in the 3-1 FA Cup semi-final defeat. Chelsea embarked on an unprecedented spending spree in the summer to reinforce their attack but Solskjaer is unsurprised by their inconsistent start.

"It's a bit like many of us, some very good games, some lesser good performances," Solskjaer said. "Football is just settling now and teams are getting into their shape. We know it's gonna be a tough game against Chelsea, we had maybe four games against them last season and four or five the season before.

"It's two teams that know each other really well."
