Manchester United give Raphael Varane update as MEN reveal combined Liverpool XI

Manchester United would love to be at full fitness against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Unless they have discovered a magical healing machine in the past 24 hours a few players will be unable to play against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

One of those players will be Raphael Varane, who picked up an injury while on international duty with France.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provided an update on how the defender is recovering.

Fernandes situation

One player who may have to pass a late fitness test for the tie against Liverpool is Bruno Fernandes.

The talisman picked up a knock against Atalanta in the Champions League in midweek and though he was seen with the squad on Saturday night, Solskjaer said he was a doubt for the game when speaking on Friday.

Fans have had their say as to who they want to step up in the starting line-up in case Fernandes is unable to play.
