Manchester United give injury updates on four players vs RB Leipzig

Manchester United will be without Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani for the crucial Champions League tie at RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.

Both forwards were withdrawn with injury during the 3-1 win at West Ham on Saturday and while neither problem is serious they've not been included in the United squad to travel to Germany.

But David de Gea is back in the travelling party, having missed the win at the London Stadium, while Luke Shaw is also in the squad having not featured since suffering a hamstring injury at Everton a month ago.

“David is travelling, Luke is travelling. Edinson and Anthony only minor niggles, but won’t be making the trip," Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said on Monday afternoon.

United only require a point against the Bundesliga side to make sure of progress to the last-16 of the Champions League and they travel to Germany having won the reverse fixture 5-0 at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer will hope the confidence from that game can help his players get the result they require on Tuesday.

"You can’t ignore it, it’s a game we’ll remember fondly, we did many things right, we should also correct the few wrongs we had," he said.

"We know RB Leipzig well enough to know they’re unpredictable in shape and systems, but we know the players and style the play in, it’s going to be a tough game, we need to be at our best to get a result from."

United's confirmed 23-man travelling squad: De Gea, Henderson, Grant, Bailly, Fosu-Mensah, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Telles, Tuanzebe, Wan-Bissaka, Williams, Fernandes, James, Lingard, Mata, Matic, McTominay, Pogba, Van de Beek, Ighalo, Greenwood, Rashford
