Manchester United give injury update on Victor Lindelof

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Victor Lindelof was substituted due to his chronic back injury during the draw against Leicester.

Lindelof has been nursing the issue - which first arose over a year ago - throughout the season, confirming earlier in the campaign he has played through the pain barrier at times to partner Harry Maguire.

The Swede was fielded at right-back in the absence of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and struggled to deal with Harvey Barnes during the first-half.

Lindelof was forced off the field after the interval after signalling to the bench a potential issue with his back.

He was replaced by Axel Tuanzebe who was accredited with an own-goal five minutes from time which rescued a point for the Foxes.

Solskjaer has confirmed action may need to be taken to replace Lindelof following his latest injury setback.

"Yeah he's struggling with his back," he told BT Sport. "He's struggled for a little while. We might have to do something. Let's see what it is."

Speaking to MUTV, Solskjaer added: "His back again I think, so we'll just have to assess that one before Wolves. Then again, Eric is fit now, Axel is fit now, so of course we might have to look at that one again."

Solskjaer also criticised United's defending for both Leicester goals citing a lack of intensity from his players.

He added: "Both goals should have been closed down quicker. First one definitely. Second one we should manage to stop the cross.

"You always look at the goals conceded that we could have and should have done better."
