Manchester United give injury update on Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Manchester United will give Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah a run out in a reserve game or behind closed doors fixture before they are considered for a first team return.

Both academy graduates trained with United on Wednesday ahead of the Europa League last-32 second leg with Club Brugge, but they won't be part of the squad on Thursday.

Fosu-Mensah recently played for the Under-23s but he has been out of senior action for 10 months with a serious knee injury, while Tuanzebe hasn't played since December 18.

Asked about their availability, Solskjaer said: "They are getting close to a reserve match or a behind closed doors match. We need them to pay in that kind of games before we use them in a first team appearance."

Only Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford were missing from training at Carrington on Wednesday and Solskjaer was delighted to have so many players involved.

"We had a couple of knocks in training but hopefully they'll be okay, a strong, fit 25-man outfield squad, it was a good session," he said.
