Manchester United get Victor Lindelof injury boost ahead of Liverpool FC fixture

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof is in contention to start for Sweden in their Euro 2020 qualifier tomorrow.

Lindelof missed the Premier League defeat at Newcastle with injury and was not risked in Sweden's 4-0 win over Malta on Saturday.

The defender has been chosen as the first-choice partner to Harry Maguire in United's defence this season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men showing a huge improvement at the back since last season.

Now, Sweden manager Janne Anderson confirmed Lindelof is in contention to feature in their home Euro 2020 qualifier.

"I haven’t heard anything other than Vigge [Lindelof] getting ready to play," Anderson said when asked to clarify whether the United man was in the group, Aftonbladet report.

Lindelof's return would give United a boost ahead of the Premier League fixture with Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw and Paul Pogba all reported to be available to Solskjaer on Sunday.

Anthony Martial is another player reportedly close to a return, as United have had to deal with a number of players missing over the last month.
