Manchester United get Dean Henderson and Harry Maguire injury updates

Harry Maguire trained for a second successive day for England, but Manchester United teammate Dean Henderson has suffered a fitness setback.

Maguire and Henderson are preparing for England's Euro 2020 opener against Croatia at Wembley on Sunday, along with United colleagues Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford.

England and United have been sweating on the fitness of Maguire for some time, and he returned to training on Friday as he looks to build up fitness following the injury that kept him out of United's final games of the season. England are still hopeful he can play a part in their Euro 2020 campaign.

So it was a boost for Maguire to be part of a 25-man squad putting the finishing touches to their preparations to face Croatia, even if he doesn't make the first group game.

However, Henderson was the only absentee from the squad, putting a dent in his hopes to displace Jordan Pickford as number one in Gareth Southgate's plans.

England confirmed that Henderson missed the training session as a precaution, and Southgate is likely to give an update on both his and Maguire's fitness in his pre-match press conference later on Saturday.

Elsewhere in Euro 2020 news, United will have a close eye on Wales' opener vs Switzerland on Saturday as Daniel James is set to play a part. James missed their final warm-up game with illness, but is part of the squad that travelled to Baku for their Group A clash.
