Facundo Pellistri is delighted to have received praise from his countryman Edinson Cavani after the pair joined Manchester United.
Cavani become United's marquee arrival on deadline day with Pellistri also arriving in a deal worth £10million from Penarol.
The 18-year-old has been extensively scouted by the Reds and worked under former United forward Diego Forlan during his time in Uruguay.
Cavani predicted the youngster to have a big impact at Old Trafford following his move to the Premier League while Pellistri was also praised by Argentina legend Juan Roman Riquelme.
Pellistri described the comments as "unbelievable" and is excited to work alongside Cavani at United.
"It’s unbelievable and fantastic to hear such comments from the players they were, and are," he told the club's website.
"Cavani is a top player and I think he will be a great player here also.
"[I’m] very excited, because the Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world. To play in that league is fantastic.
"When you are a kid, you don’t imagine [playing in the Champions League], but now it’s real. I’m very happy for this opportunity."
Pellistri joined up with United's first-team for the first time on Wednesday and hopes to learn from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his coaching staff.
He added: "I want to improve, for example, in shooting, passing the ball. All those things that make you better on the pitch.
"There are lots of people in charge of you to help. I think that I should learn from my team-mates and the coach, because it’s the first time I’m here in England. I will need help from them."
