Manchester United are guaranteed to play at least eight more fixtures next season having qualified for the Champions League.
Entering at the third round of both domestic cup competitions means Man United will have a minimum of 48 fixtures in the 2026-27 campaign, a big increase on the 40 they played in 2025-26.
Nevertheless, Man Utd are back in Europe’s premier club competition which gets underway earlier than usual, starting the week commencing September 8 as fixtures from the league phase will be played across three days.
Then there is a one month gap in between fixtures due to the first international break of the season being extended to three weeks, stretching from September 19 to October 10.
United last won the Champions League in 2008, beating Chelsea on penalties in the first-ever all Premier League final, but this will be their first time taking part in the competition under its new format.
Man Utd are in pot two ahead of the new campaign, but do not discover their opponents for the league phase until the end of August when the draw takes place.
