Manchester United fixture vs Swansea postponed

Manchester United's U23 fixture against Swansea has been postponed.

United were due to face Swansea in the Premier League Two Division Two on Friday night but the game at Leigh Sports Village has been cancelled.

The postponement is understood to be due to an illness in the Swansea camp, with a new fixture date to be announced as soon as possible.

United currently sit second in the division behind West Ham and are chasing a strong end to the season as they look to secure a return to the top-tier of reserve football.

Neil Wood's side have won their last two matches on the bounce in the league but will now have to wait until March before they travel to face Stoke in the league.

The United first-team are due to fly back from their warm weather training camp in Marbella on Friday, and it is unclear whether any of the youngsters who travelled were set to face Swansea.

Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong and James Garner have all been involved at youth level this season and could have featured at Leigh.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are set to face Chelsea in the Premier League on Monday night with new signing Odion Ighalo in line to make his debut for the club.
