Former Manchester United attacker Nani featured in the abandoned Melbourne Derby clash on Saturday, with the game being called off after fans invaded the pitch and attacked Melbourne City's goalkeeper.
Supporters encroached the pitch in the 21st minute and City shot-stopper Thomas Glover was attacked - having a bin smashed into his face. The incident came amid fury about the A-League's decision to send the next three grand finals to Sydney.
A mass walkout had been planned in the 20th minute, but tempers boiled over and fans ran onto the pitch shortly after Glover appeared to throw a flare back into the crowd.

The 24-year-old was left bloodied after being struck in the face, with the game later being abandoned and bloodied Glover was reportedly hospitalised. City had a 1-0 lead over Nani's side Melbourne Victory when the game was stopped.
Football Australia released a statement in response to the incident, which read: "Following shocking scenes during the first half of the A-League Men’s match between Melbourne Victory FC and Melbourne City FC at AAMI Park on Saturday 17 December, where fans from the Melbourne Victory FC end entered the field of play, Football Australia match officials have abandoned the match in accordance with Law 5.3 of the Laws of the Game in order to protect the integrity of the match.
"Such behaviour has no place in Australian Football, with a full Football Australia investigation to commence immediately, where strong sanctions will be handed down."
Since the A-League started in 2005, clubs have been able to put themselves forward to host the grand final based on how they performed in the finals series. However, the deal for the next three grand finals to be played in Sydney - reportedly worth $10million - has been condemned by supporters across the country.
Nani signed for A-League outfit Melbourne Victory in July of this year - making his unofficial debut against United in a 4–1 loss to his former side in a pre-season friendly.
