Manchester United favourite makes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer demand amid Mauricio Pochettino talk

Manchester United legend Paul Parker has insisted that the club need to stick with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and not make a move for Mauricio Pochettino.

The former Tottenham boss saw his gardening leave with the North London side end this week, freeing him up for a return to the Premier League.

Pochettino has spoken publicly about being keen on a return to England, which has revived talk about a move to Old Trafford, but Parker believes faith should be given to Solskjaer.

“You talk about Pochettino, he’s been mentioned a lot of late. I’ve seen today he’s doing something on TV, he’s about and people are trying to push him towards jobs," he told TalkSport.

“You throw him in at Manchester United and it’s an easy one to do, to say Poch at a big club, something could happen.

"But we have to say that things at United have shown, with how they finished before this situation started, it would have suggested they would have been there until the last kick of the ball to get into the Champions League.

“They had turned around, [Solskjaer] had turned them around as a team, as a club, the whole place was definitely moving forward. When you look at what he's spent money on, the players he’s brought in, not one of them has let [Solskjaer] or Manchester United down, they have all stepped forward.

"Bruno [Fernandes] [has made an] impact straight away and everyone is growing into it now and has got the right mentality.

"So United at this moment are going forward, we’ll wait and see what happens when things start again, but if you’re judging it now it’s wrong that people are still trying to get that man [Solskjaer] out of that job.”
