Manchester United fans will love why Usain Bolt called Man City star after Premier League win

Avid Manchester United fan Usain Bolt has revealed he was forced to cheer for City in the final weeks of the Premier League season.

The Blues won a second successive league title on the final day of the campaign, edging out Liverpool by a point after a thrilling title race.

With United languishing down in sixth Bolt had to hope for small mercies, with City denying Liverpool the chance to end their 29-year-wait for the league championship.

Bolt, who will play for the World XI in Soccer Aid at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, was delighted to see City beat Brighton 4-1 on the final weekend of the season and he revealed he picked up the phone to call Raheem Sterling to congratulate him on winning the league.

"Listen that’s the only time I cheered for City," Bolt told The Sportsman ahead of Soccer Aid.

"I was so happy, I called Raheem (Sterling) and I was like well done bloke!”
