Manchester United fans will absolutely love the trailer for Sky's new documentary on the club

While the immediate attention of Manchester United fans is on their upcoming fixture against Spurs, they'll also be circling the date of May 24 in their diary.

That's because Sky Documentaries and NOW will be showing a new documentary on the club that has won more trophies than any other side in English football.

The United Way is the epic story of a football club, a city and a man who did more than most to bring success to both.

The story of Manchester United is told by, co-written by and featuring the iconic Eric Cantona.

In terms of an official synopsis, The United Way offers a "unique insight into this iconic club with a fresh perspective on the 'United Way', taking audiences on a compelling ride through the history and evolution of the world’s biggest football club, and the social and cultural environment that shaped it. Exclusive interviews and stunning archive interweave Eric’s story with that of the club.

In terms of interview subjects, United heroes like David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Bryan Robson, Brian Kidd, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Teddy Sheringham, Nicky Butt, Peter Schmeichel, and the late Tommy Docherty will all feature.

The famous events that occurred on the pitch at Old Trafford are also set against a background of four dynamic decades of change in the city of Manchester.

Lords Heseltine and Kinnock add socio-political context, while musicians Peter Hook and Shaun Ryder recall the ground-breaking sounds and styles of the city.

Set to the stirring score of five-time Oscar-nominated, BAFTA-winning composer George Fenton, this is a cinematic journey to discover the soul of a football club, of a city, of a people.

The United Way airs on Sky Documentaries and NOW on May 24.
