Manchester United fans have been warned that they should not expect immediate success under Erik ten Hag when he eventually arrives.
Last month Ten Hag was officially unveiled as the new manager of United. The 52-year-old Dutchman will join the club at the end of the season on a contract until 2025.
The Reds also have an option to extend his deal by a further year should they wish to. Ten Hag could be joining United in the summer with another Eredivisie title under his belt.

Ajax currently sit four points clear at the top of the table. Should they win their next match against Heerenveen on Wednesday, the Amsterdam club will secure the crown with a game to spare.
However, speaking to The Punters Page, Match of the Day pundit Danny Murphy explained that United may not get glory straightaway under Ten Hag. "It's a hell of a big job at Manchester United," he explained.
"Ten Hag’s first season will be transition, and then it'll be the second season where he's judged." United's last trophies of note came in the 2016/17 season when they lifted the Europa League, League Cup and Community Shield.
