Manchester United fans vent their fury after Paul Pogba concedes controversial penalty vs AS Roma

Manchester United fans are furious after Paul Pogba was penalised for a controversial handball against AS Roma.

United took an early lead at Old Trafford through Bruno Fernandes after great skill from Pogba, before a deft pass from Edinson Cavani found the Portuguese playmaker one vs one.

Things quickly turned for Pogba though as he gave away a penalty for handball. The Frenchman slid to block a cross from the right and the ball hit his arm whilst he was on the floor.

Whilst his arm was above his body on the ground, supporters believe it was an incredibly harsh decision and they took to social media to vent their frustration.

Pogba was selected on the left side of midfield, with Mason Greenwood missing out of the starting XI despite his recent form.

Explaining his decision before the match, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told MUTV: “If you look at individuals Mason deserves to play, but we felt the second half against Tottenham it was a strong performance, we want to see something of the same.

"We want to see Luke going forward, we want to see a solid base as well because of the away goals, it sounds negative but it’s not meant to be negative, you have a solid base with Scott [McTominay] and Fred in there. We want to have our full-backs really flying forward."
