Manchester United fans urge club to hijack transfer deadline day deal for Aston Villa target

Manchester United fans have urged the club to make a last ditch attempt to sign Sevilla striker Wissam Ben Yedder, after reports emerged linking the Frenchman with a switch to Aston Villa.

The 28-year-old, who was in fine form in La Liga last season - scoring 18 goals, is being linked with a move to Villa Park as the Villains look to secure their place in the Premier League after winning the playoffs.

Popular Sevilla blogger InfoSevillista claims that Dean Smith's side have made a £29million offer to lure the France international to England and Ben Yedder has admitted in the past he is open to the idea of playing in the Premier League.

Back in June 2019, Spanish outlet La Colina de Nervion reported that Ben Yedder was a target for Manchester United , with Solksjaer identifying the versatile striker as the ideal man to replace Romelu Lukaku, who is on the verge of leaving for Inter Milan.

With the transfer window deadline fast approaching, United are monitoring their options to replace Lukaku, but the MEN understands the club would be happy to head into their game against Chelsea without signing another forward.

Nevertheless, Manchester United fans on Twitter have urged the club to hijack Villa's proposed move for the striker in order to bolster their options in the final third.
