Manchester United fans showed their love for Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford as the legendary manager celebrates his birthday.
The former United boss brings up his 80th on New Year’s Eve, and was in the crowd at Old Trafford on Thursday as supporters unfurled a banner in his honour.
The sign wished a happy birthday to Ferguson, with plenty of fans also sharing their love for their former manager ahead of the final game of 2021 against Burnley.
The banner was unveiled ahead of kick-off, with supporters moving it across the stands at Old Trafford as the Scot watched on from his usual seat, and he looked delighted with the love shown towards him.
Ferguson has of course served as an ambassador to United ever since he retired as manager in 2013, having established himself as the club’s most successful manager in their history.
And ahead of him bringing up another milestone, fans showed their appreciation both at the ground and from home.
Ferguson will of course hope to see more success over the next decade for United, with the club having struggled to rediscover their former glories since his retirement.
Ralf Rangnick is the latest to step into the vacancy after David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer all failed to get United back at the summit of the Premier League.
