Manchester United fans think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has missed an opportunity to hand Angel Gomes some game time in the FA Cup third round replay with Wolves on Wednesday night.
Solskjaer went strong for the replay, with just two outfield changes from the side that beat Norwich. There was still room for some rotation, however, with Daniel James and Mason Greenwood playing in place of Andreas Pereira and Marcus Rashford.
On the bench, there was room for Tahith Chong, who has been linked with a move away from United at the end of the season when his contract expires. The same situation faces Gomes, but he was not named in the matchday squad after coming off the bench in the last two fixtures.
Fans felt Gomes deserves the chance to prove himself with his contract running out, but were confused why he was not even on the bench for a game like Wednesday night's replay - especially with Jesse Lingard among the substitutes despite his poor long-term form.
Others even suggested the exclusion from the matchday squad might force him to look elsewhere for regular playing time.
