Manchester United fans think Mino Raiola has just ruled out a possible transfer destination for Erling Haaland

Manchester United fans believe Manchester City will struggle to sign Erling Haaland following Mino Raiola's latest comments about manager Pep Guardiola.

United are set for a busy summer transfer window with a striker - as well as a centre-back, right-back, defensive-midfielder and right-winger - on their wish list.

MEN Sport understands that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and football director John Murtough have settled on Borussia Dortmund sensation Haaland as their centre forward priority in the transfer market.

However, they are set to face stiff competition for the 20-year-old who has become the world's most sought-after player after scoring a staggering 49 goals in 49 games in Germany.

City are another side in the race and it's understood that the Blues are confident of signing Haaland following the announcement that all-time top goal scorer Sergio Aguero will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

However, some United supporters believe that the latest comments from Raiola, the Norwegian's agent, may lower their chances of doing so.

In an interview with The Athletic Raiola touched on his frosty relationship with Guardiola.

“As for Mr Guardiola, I’ve closed the book already a long time ago," he said. "Everybody knows what I think of him personally and he can say what he thinks for me personally."

As a result, United fans think their club may have an advantage in the war to sign Haaland.

However, what was not noted by many online was that Raiola then went on to speak of his respect for Guardiola as a manager.

"For the rest, I think he’s a great trainer," he added. "And that’s how it is. I will not shut up for anybody. I’ll give my opinion, I think that it is my right."
