Manchester United fans think Dean Henderson was right about his future despite mistake for England

When Dean Henderson declared he was good enough to become Manchester United's number one goalkeeper without a first team appearance, some eyebrows were raised.

There is no denying Henderson's potential, but the stopper is still untested in the Premier League after last season's promotion from the Championship with Sheffield United.

That didn't stop him declaring earlier this week that he should be playing for United, as he argued: "I'm good enough to be a Premier League goalkeeper. I deserve that chance.

"It's a tough one to say where. But do I think I should be playing at Manchester United now? Yes I do."

While Henderson could head back to Sheffield United for another season long loan, fans feel he should be be given the chance after pulling off a number of saves for England U21s against Romania.

Henderson's penalty save against France couldn't prevent defeat, meaning the Young Lions had to beat Romania to keep their slim hopes of progressing in the U21 Euros alive.

The keeper was at fault for Romania's third as he let a long-range strike slip through his fingers, but fans had seen enough to predict big things for the goalkeeper.

And he followed it up with another mature display against Romania, prompting fans to agree that he is good enough for United.
