Manchester United fans tell club what do about Edinson Cavani future

The majority of Manchester United fans believe Edinson Cavani should stay at the club next season.

In a response to a poll by MEN Sport, more than half of supporters voted that Cavani should stay at United amid recent talk about his future.

The majority of fans wanting Cavani to stay makes some sense, with the former PSG forward offering United another dimension in attack as he’s a traditional centre-forward.

Of course, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial at his disposal, but history has shown neither are overly convincing when it comes to shouldering the goalscoring burden at United.

However, the results of the poll weren't comprehensive, with more than 40 per cent voting against the idea of Cavani remaining at United.

At 34 years old, the deal to bring Cavani to Old Trafford raised eyebrows. The Uruguayan started brightly but question marks over his fitness have been raised of late.

Two men linked with the player recently talked up the possibility of Cavani leaving United.

Uruguayan national team assistant coach, Mario Rebollo, and a 'close family friend', Alexander Medina, haven't hidden their feelings on the issue, expressing that they think Cavani would be better off in South America at the end of the season.

Cavani's dad claimed his son wasn't happy at Old Trafford last month although the player came out on social media to say he was proud to wear the shirt.
