Manchester United fans suggest Ole Gunnar Solskjaer makes defensive change

Manchester United supporters want to see Axel Tuanzebe installed as Harry Maguire's new central defensive partner.

Tuanzebe made his first Premier League start of the season in the in an unorthodox left-back role, in the absence of injured full backs Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw.

And despite his misplaced pass leading to the equalising Arsenal goal for Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, the majority of United fans want to see a partnership between Tuanzebe and Maguire at the earliest opportunity.

United travel to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League tomorrow (Thursday) night, looking to return to winning ways after failing to win their past three games in 90 minutes, though they will almost certainly rotate their options.

United then play Newcastle United at St James' Park in what will be a huge Premier league game for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Whether he starts Victor Lindelof or Tuanzebe alongside Maguire will be one of the major talking points, as MEN Sport asked fans in a poll who should play centre-back.

In response to the question: "Who should be Harry Maguire’s centre back partner for Manchester United?" 63 per cent voted for Tuanzebe and 32 per cent for Lindelof, with only 3 per cent voting for Marcos Rojo and 1 per cent for Phil Jones.

Whether Solskjaer takes heed of the fans' advice remains to be seen, though Tuanzebe has done his first team credentials no harm this season with a string of impressive displays.

United are sweating on the fitness of defenders Wan-Bissaka and Shaw, who both missed the Arsenal game.

The new signing from Crystal Palace in particular has been a key player already this season and his return from a bout of illness will surely precipitate more changes in Solskjaer's back line, with Ashley Young playing right-back against the Gunners. Shaw has been out with a hamstring problem.
