Daniel James' Euro 2020 tournament has ended in devastating fashion.
Wales were riding high after a promising group stage which saw them take four points against Switzerland, Turkey and Italy. But they were comfortably second best against an inspired Denmark in Amsterdam in the last-16, falling to a 4-0 defeat and ending the game with 10 men.
Denmark nullified Wales' threats superbly, marking Aaron Ramsey out of the game, keeping Gareth Bale quiet, and stopping any service of note to Manchester United winger James.
It was James' fourth start of a decent tournament, where he has impressed on the wing, but was eventually substituted in the second half after failing to influence proceedings.
Now, James will rest and recover from a draining tournament, which has seen Wales travel to Azerbaijan, Italy and the Netherlands.
And that extra time before the start of the new season has been identified by United fans as a positive to take from Saturday's result.
Elsewhere in Euro 2020, Bruno Fernandes and his Portugal side face Belgium on Sunday, before David De Gea will hope to feature for Spain against Croatia on Monday and Paul Pogba's France face Switzerland.
Then, Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are part of the England squad who will take on Germany on Tuesday, and Victor Lindelof's Sweden will complete the last-16 against Ukraine later that night.
With so many key players involved in the knockout stages, fans think James' exit could be useful for the start of pre-season ahead of the Premier League opener against Leeds in August.
