Manchester United fans split on Man City derby prediction

Manchester United fans are split on how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will fare in Saturday's Manchester derby against Manchester City.

Cristiano Ronaldo's goal and assist in the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ended United's four Premier League matches without a run and also ended Nuno Espirito Santo's short spell at the helm in North London.

The 36-year-old accompanied the man-of-the-match performance with a match-saving showing midweek against Atalanta after his brace secured an important, hard-earned point in the respect of Group F.

Preparations have been far from ideal with the latest injury concerns for Raphael Varane, who was forced off in the draw in Bergamo with a hamstring injury. Victor Lindelof also missed the trip to Italy and was a doubt, but starts in the early kick-off.

Edinson Cavani misses out with injury so Mason Greenwood and Cristiano Ronaldo lead the line.

More than 1,700 fans took part in the MEN's derby survey, giving their predictions on the result as well as their favourite derby.

Those who are positive of a win edged the vote with 45.8 per cent of the votes whilst 40.2 per cent of supporters fear a first home derby defeat since April 2019 with 13.9 per cent expecting a share of the spoils.

Wayne Rooney's iconic overhead kick in February 2011 pipped 2009's late winner from Michael Owen with 29.7 per cent over the last-gasp strike which garnered 24.4 per cent.

The 3-2 win at the Etihad in 2018 managed 22.6 per cent whilst Andrei Kanchelskis' hat-trick in 1994 fell behind with 16.9 per cent.

United's Maine Road comeback thanks to Eric Cantona's brace in 1993 managed 6.4 per cent of the vote.
