Manchester United fans slam Solskjaer over Victor Lindelof loyalty

Manchester United fans have slammed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's decision to name Victor Lindelof in the starting XI to face Brighton.

Lindelof struggled in United's loss to Crystal Palace and Eric Bailly featured in the midweek Carabao Cup victory against Luton Town.

Solskjaer waxed lyrical over the Ivorian during his pre-match press conference and hinted that he would receive more first-team minutes following his return from injury.

He said: "Eric is fit again, which is a big, big bonus and a big plus for us, and I'm looking forward to seeing him develop and play more games this season. Because we've been waiting for him to, first, be fit and play more regularly."

Given Lindelof's struggles and Bailly's decent performance against Luton, United fans were desperate to see the latter given a chance to impress alongside Harry Maguire in central defence.

However, Solskjaer has stuck with his favoured partnership, with Lindelof returning to the starting line-up.

United fans are bemused by Solskjaer's decision and believe Bailly should have be a nailed on starter.

Manchester United starting XI vs Brighton: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw; Matic, Pogba, Fernandes; Greenwood, Martial, Rashford.

Subs: Henderson, Fosu-Mensah, Bailly, Fred, McTominay, Van de Beek, Lingard.
