Manchester United fans slam Richard Keys for Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford claim

Manchester United fans have slammed Richard Keys and Andy Gray for their analysis of the win against Aston Villa.

United continued their title charge with a crucial win against Dean Smith's side, moving level on points with league leaders Liverpool with a game in-hand thanks to Bruno Fernandes' penalty.

Paul Pogba was adjudged to have been fouled in the area by former Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz much to the Brazilian's dismay. Fernandes made no mistake from the spot and handed United a crucial three points.

Former Sky Sports presenters Keys and Gray were on duty to analyse United's win for beIN Sports and ridiculed the Reds' recent penalty record - despite overlooking the fact Leicester have won four more spot-kicks in the league this season.

Keys claimed both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial were 'serial offenders' who would 'go down if they were sneezed on'.

He said: "I think it's impossible for one team to be rewarded in that manner, so often. These two [Martial and Rashford] are serial offenders for me. They go over when you sneeze on them. I'm a little surprised to see Fernandes has only won two. I thought he'd be more successful than that. It's impossible."

United fans vehemently disagreed with Keys' assertion and hit out at his claims over Rashford and Martial.

Back in July, MEN Sport took a closer look at the penalties United had been awarded over the last two seasons and found the majority to be clear cut decisions.

Former United forward Andy Cole believes the decision to award a penalty for the foul on Pogba against Villa was the correct call.

He told Sky Sports: "I don't think so (Pogba tripping himself up). I think the problem nowadays is that with the faintest of touches, anyone is going to go down.

"If you look at it there is a touch and he's gone down. Man United have got a penalty out of it and it's the right call."
