Manchester United fans sent wild as Scott McTominay scores Scotland winner in 'Fergie Time'

Scott McTominay gave a new meaning to 'Fergie time' when the Manchester United player scored a dramatic late, late winner for Scotland.

In front of the watching Sir Alex Ferguson - a legendary figure at Old Trafford and beyond - the Scotland midfielder scored in the 94th minute to earn his nation a priceless 3-2 victory over Israel.

It was his first goal for the Tartan Army and McTominay couldn't have timed the moment any better.

Indeed, the 24-year-old arrived in style at the back post to settle the scores and raise the roof at Hampden Park as Scotland gave themselves an advantage on the road to Qatar.

Despite competing at Euro 2020 this summer, the Tartan Army have not made it to a World Cup finals since 1998.

Courtesy of that match-winner from McTominay, though, there is every chance Steve Clarke and his team can now go on to upset Denmark in Group F.

At the very least, they are in pole position to make it through to the play-offs.

Speaking about the winner on TV, former Scotland international Ally McCoist said: "Listen to this place! Absolutely brilliant, absolutely tremendous, absolutely fantastic. He's onside, he continues his run [and] earns it. He just got the ball over the line... and that's where you want him. I tell kids all the time; 'Just hang about at the back post and you'll always get goals'. There you are. Get in!"

Here are a selection of comments from United supporters about the McTominay winner;

@TotallyMUFC posted: "Speak to any Scotland fan and they'll tell you McTominay is a great player."
