Manchester United fans sent into meltdown after £72m Jadon Sancho transfer announcement

Manchester United supporters have gone into meltdown on social media after the signing of Jadon Sancho was made official.

The transfer was years in the making, but the Reds finally have their man after lengthy discussions with Borussia Dortmund proved productive and Sancho has signed in a deal worth £72m - his contract will run until June 2026, with an option of a further year.

Sancho has established himself as one of the world's finest young talents over recent years and he scored 16 goals and provided 20 assists across all competitions last season, which suggests United have secured an outstanding deal for the 21-year-old winger.

The transfer is a signal of intent from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and United fans are understandably delighted at the announcement.

One supporter called it the 'signing of the decade' while others excitedly claimed Sancho is finally home.

Sancho was part of the England squad that reached the European Championship final this summer and when he returns from his mandatory three-week break he'll familiarise himself with Carrington before United's opening league game on August 14.
