Manchester United supporters have warned the rest of the Premier League that the team is only going to get better when Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane come into the fold.
United brought their pre-season schedule to an excellent close on Saturday, as they ran riot on a beleaguered Everton at Old Trafford to win 4-0.
Mason Greenwood opened the scoring early on when he stole the ball after a disastrous Jordan Pickford spill and tapped into an empty goal.
The second came just five minutes later when Harry Maguire met Luke Shaw's corner to fire a bullet header straight into the top corner.
Bruno Fernandes added a third with the pick of the bunch as he blasted a free-kick into the net from 26-yards to conclude a thrilling first-half display.
The second-half wasn't played at the same high tempo as a flurry of changes from both sides disrupted momentum but Diogo Dalot added a fourth in injury time with a looping header.
The display will give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side a massive boost of confidence ahead of the Premier League opener against Leeds United in seven days' time.
Especially since United were without several key players and their two new big-money signings.
Jadon Sancho was unavailable as he will not report for his first training session until Monday, whereas Raphael Varane's deal has still not been finalised as he must undergo medical following a period of isolation.
Marcus Rashford also didn't play as he is undergoing surgery to fix a shoulder injury and Paul Pogba only came off the bench at half-time.
United fans can't wait to see just how much better the team will be when everyone is available.
After the match, Solskjaer gave an update on both Sancho and Varane.
“Jadon [Sancho] is next week, Raphael [Varane] hopefully once the medical is sorted will be a few days with us," he said. "We have to get them through a fitness regime as well, we can't just throw them into a game.
"With Raphael, the medical has to be done. He's isolating at the moment. He had to wait for visas so unfortunately that took a few more days than expected but we've got to follow the protocols and the rules."
