Manchester United fans send Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Romelu Lukaku transfer demand

Manchester United fans want the club to cash in on striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.

The Belgium international is looking to leave Old Trafford in pursuit of a new challenge with Inter Milan keen on securing his services.

The MEN understands the striker is intent on joining Internazionale since he does not feel 'important' under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Lukaku is keen to finalise a transfer within the next two weeks but will remain respectful to the club. United players return to pre-season training on July 1 before the tour squad flies to Perth on the 7th.

And the vast majority of fans who voted in a poll on the Manchester Evening News' Twitter page want to see Solskjaer cash in on the former Everton man.

Of nearly 5,000 voters 81 per cent believe the club should sell the striker in the summer with only 19% wanting to keep him.

Inter appeal to Lukaku because he wants to work with new Inter coach Antonio Conte and United are prepared to sell Lukaku but are holding out for the £75million they paid Everton for him two years ago.

Everton inserted a sell-on clause that entitles them to £5m of any fee Lukaku commands this summer but Inter are yet to have submitted a bid.

United beat Chelsea to the signing of Lukaku back in 2016 and he's gone on to make 96 appearances for the club in all competitions scoring 42 goals.
