Manchester United loanee Chris Smalling was the best player on the pitch as Roma secured victory against Lecce in the Serie A.
After slipping down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , the former England international opted to move to Italy in search of regular first-team football.
Smalling revealed he is hoping to learn during his spell away from the club and has made an instant impact under Paulo Fonseca.
Roma secured a narrow 1-0 away win against Lecce thanks to an Edin Dzeko second-half strike, but it was Smalling 's performance at the back that stole the headlines.
The 29-year-old won seven out of seven aerial duels as well as winning 100 per cent of his tackles.
Smalling also had the most ball recoveries and joint most headed clearances and interceptions.
