Manchester United fans have indicated they would like to see Harry Maguire become the next permanent captain of the club.
Ashley Young is the current captain at Old Trafford, while David de Gea has been elected by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to wear the armband whenever the English defender is not playing.
Maguire has also worn the armband this season and even captained United at the weekend as they defeated Brighton 3-1 in the Premier League.
Speaking after the win Solskjaer referred to Maguire as "captain material" and suggested that he could become the "long-term" leader at the club.
It seems like United supporters agree with the manager too, after they voted the England international as the desired next captain of the club.
MEN Sport ran a poll on Monday which quizzed fans on the play they would like to see become the next permanent United captain.
Summer signing Maguire strolled to victory in the survey with 50 percent of the vote, while David de Gea finished in second with 27 percent of the vote.
Scott McTominay received 22 percent of support with the remaining one percent of votes going to the 'other' category.
Replying to the poll one fan added: "Maguire. Leader, central position, good communicator and perfect age," while another gave their backing to the Spanish goalkeeper: "De Gea is the best candidate for the captaincy in the club, this man has seen us throughout hard times and the best way to congratulate him is by making him the permanent captain, he deserves it."
