Manchester United fans send message to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after Man City defeat

Manchester United fans have called for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be sacked after Saturday's 2-0 derby defeat.

Eric Bailly scored an own goal after 10 minutes and Bernardo Silva doubled the Manchester City's lead on the stroke of the break after taking advantage of embarrassing and amateurish defending.

There was a chorus of boos heard at Old Trafford at full-time but no direct chants in opposition of Solskjaer were heard.

There was tangible anger on social media after the game with United losing another important game, though, reports the MEN.

Solskjaer was temporarily relieved of pressure when United beat Tottenham 3-0 last weekend following the Liverpool debacle, however, his side looked inferior in every area to Pep Guardiola's side on Saturday afternoon and the display was tepid.

Some United supporters took to social media to ask for Solskjaer to part ways with the club.

One fan said: "We all love Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but it's time to move on from Manchester United."

Another added: "International break now. Perfect opportunity to sack Solskjær and bring in a new manager. Go do it."

Rizzy tweeted: "Club Statement: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been sacked as Manchester United’s head coach. I need this by 7pm today."

@ManUnitedMedia said on Twitter: "If Solskjær really was a Manchester United man he’d walk, it’s that simple. Stop telling us that the club comes first, show us that you genuinely mean it."

And another fan said: "I will always respect Solskjaer. As a player & as a manager building a squad which should now challenge for the big titles, but a change is needed. Solskjaer was the man before the man & it’s time we now bring in someone who can take that next step with this squad."
