Manchester United fans are divided on whether Mason Greenwood is getting enough playing time for the first team this season — though more of them want to see more of the 18-year-old.
Greenwood has netted twice for United this term, once in the Europa League against Astana and once in the Carabao Cup victory over Rochdale. But recently he's been included in the Under-23s, or Under-21s as it was last night (Tuesday) when he bagged the winner for Neil Wood's young side in the EFL Trophy.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed Greenwood his senior debut in the final game of last season against Cardiff and declared that "Greenwood is a player for me", vowing to hand him opportunities. The club didn't replace outgoing forwards Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez in the summer and have seen Anthony Martial miss much of the season through injury.
Greenwood, however, hasn't started a league game yet this term, playing just 103 minutes of Premier League action and he didn't travel with the first team squad to London yesterday (Tuesday) ahead of their Carabao Cup clash with Chelsea.
But in response to a poll by MEN Sport asking: "Do you think Mason Greenwood is getting enough game time for Manchester United this season?" more than half of respondents said "no".
Of the 3,958 people to vote, 55 per cent said no and 45 per cent said yes — and the question was asked before Greenwood's late heroics for the Under-21s at Doncaster.
Solskjaer has reiterated his promise to give youth a chance at United this season, but it seems fans would like to see Greenwood as a more integral part of the first-team plans.
