Manchester United fans send Jadon Sancho and Declan Rice transfer message to Solskjaer

Manchester United fans would rather the club split their priorities this summer and land transfers for Jadon Sancho and Declan Rice, than sign a striker.

MEN Sport understands United are considering moves for a centre-forward, right-winger, defensive midfielder and centre-back at the moment, but it's unlikely that they'll make four marquee additions.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has voiced his desire for "two or three" signings that could help United bridge the gap to Premier League champions City. United are guaranteed to finish second in the Premier League, trailing Pep Guardiola's side by 12 points going into the Premier League's final day.

Harry Kane and Erling Haaland are both players United admire but would come at a serious cost, in the region of £150million this summer.

So the MEN asked United fans where the club should spend a hypothetical budget of £200million in the summer.

Around 80 per cent of the vote was for Sancho and Rice, who together would cost roughly the same amount as Tottenham striker Kane or Borussia Dortmund's forward Haaland. United fans are also keen for the club to sign a centre-back, amid interest in Real Madrid star Raphael Varane, Villarreal's Paul Torres and young Brighton prospect Ben White.

Around 12 per cent of the poll vote, at the time of writing, wanted United to go all out for Kane or Haaland as a priority target.

Other suggestions were that United should sign a right-back like Kieran Trippier, with Jack Grealish and Yves Bissouma among the fans' other desired targets.

It remains to be seen what business United can get done, and their budget may depend on outgoing sales from Solskjaer's squad.
