Manchester United fans want to see James Garner selected in their team's squad to face Arsenal on Monday night.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has some big decisions to make, in the likely absence of forwards Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, who are major injury doubts. Mason Greenwood is in contention to make his first Premier League start of the campaign.
And with Angel Gomes, Tahith Chong and Brandon Williams all having been handed game time by Solskjaer this season, United fans want midfield starlet Garner to be included.
The 18-year-old scored and performed superbly as United's Under-23s beat Norwich City 2-0 at Leigh Sports Village on Friday night.
And in response to an MEN Sport poll which asked: "After scoring another goal for Manchester United’s U23s, should James Garner be in the United first team squad v Arsenal?" the majority of respondents said "yes".
A 75 per cent share of 908 votes wanted to see Garner in the matchday squad, while only 25 per cent said "no, not yet".
United aren't blessed with a huge amount of options in midfield after they sold Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini in the past year without signing replacements.
But former United midfielder believes supporters will see more of Garner in the future — possibly later this season.
“People talk about the leaders and who is going to help them, which is an important side, so it’s a difficult one but I’m sure as the season goes on you’re going to see more of James Garner because he’s top class,"
“I’m surprised he’s not featured so far but by the end of the season I’m sure that people will know who he is without a doubt, if you don’t by now.”
