Manchester United fans have hailed Daniel James' form after he netted in Thursday's 4-0 win over Real Sociedad.
The winger has become a squad player for the Reds this season after the emergence of Mason Greenwood last season and the summer arrival of Edinson Cavani saw him drop down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
It meant the 23-year-old struggled to make much of an impact at the beginning of the season as he was unable to build any momentum with irregular appearances.
The former Swansea City player had made just five appearances for the Reds prior to going away on international duty with Wales in November.
Yet he has kicked on since his return, netting four times in the seven matches he has played after November's break.
His goal in Thursday's Europa League game means he has now averaged a goal every 92.5 minutes for United since the November international games in what is a promising run of form.
James also netted in matches against Istanbul Basaksehir, Leeds United and Southampton, and he also set up Bruno Fernandes in Thursday's win.
Whilst there had been talk in the summer and January that James may have been subject to potential loan interest from elsewhere, United fans on Reddit feel he now has a part to play in Solskjaer's squad ahead of facing Newcastle United this weekend.
Speaking about the winger after the victory on Thursday, fans were pleased with what they saw.
"Thought he played really well today," one commented. "Always puts a shift in. Good squad player to have."
Another said: "Lad gets too much stick despite working his socks off every match, love to see him score."
A third fan added: "Excellent man-management from Ole here.
"He knows exactly what kind of games James excels in. Leeds, Southampton, and now this game.
"Dan is such a great card to have in our sleeves."
