Manchester United fans send Cristiano Ronaldo debut demand to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United fans are eagerly awaiting Cristiano Ronaldo's return to the Premier League, with a second debut imminent.

The club legend sealed a dramatic return to the club on Deadline Day from Juventus and supporters have had to wait over the course of the international break.

His second debut could come at Old Trafford on Saturday against Newcastle United, something fans are desperate to see.

Asked about the potential of a first appearance in his second stint at United against the Magpies, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed it would happen but didn't confirm whether it would be as a starter.

"He's been good," Solskjaer said. "Of course, we've followed his career from afar since he left here. I think everyone's very, very happy to have him back. He can speak for himself but he seems happy to be back as well. The mood's been very good, working well and we're looking forward to Saturday.

"He's been having a good pre-season with Juventus, he's played for the national team, he's had a good week with us here. He'll definitely be on the pitch at some point, that's for sure."

The lack of a definitive answer on whether Ronaldo would be named in the starting line-up was not the news that some fans wanted to here, who issued a message to their manager.

The general consensus is that if Ronaldo is fit, he should be starting the game as they feel he is a natural starter in United's first-choice line-up.

Even if Ronaldo was to be a substitute, there is plenty of action on the horizon for him to be involved in with the Champions League commencing in midweek.

United face Young Boys in their first group-stage match, before back-to-back matches against West Ham in the Premier League and Carabao Cup.
