Manchester United fans send clear message over Toni Kroos and Paul Pogba swap rumours

Manchester United fans believe that the claimed proposed transfer swap between Toni Kroos and Paul Pogba would be a bad move.

Reports have suggested United are interested in signing the Real Madrid and Germany midfielder but that it is likely Pogba would head in the opposite direction, having been heavily linked with the Spanish club recently.

United were able to hold onto Pogba in the summer, despite strong interest from Madrid and statements from both Pogba and his agent Mino Raiola about how the Frenchman wanted to leave.

"For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great," Pogba said in the summer.

"After this season (2018/19) and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well... I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else."

United refused to sell Pogba and, although it now looks likely the France World Cup winner will leave in the summer of 2020, it seems United fans would rather he stayed and that Kroos wasn't signed.

In response to a poll by MEN Sport asking: "Manchester United are reportedly interested in Toni Kroos in a swap with Paul Pogba. Would you be happy with this swap?" the majority said "no".

In fact, 68 per cent of more than 5,200 respondents want Pogba over Kroos, with only 32 per cent believing the swap would be good business for United.

The Reds overlooked potential signings such as Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen in the summer, in order to concentrate on keeping Pogba, so it remains to be seen if they allow changes in their midfield in next summer's transfer window.
