Manchester United fans say the same thing over James Garner future

Manchester United fans want to see James Garner loaned to a Premier League or Bundesliga side next season in order to continue his development.

Garner has been tipped to follow in the footsteps of Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood in becoming a first-team regular under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer handed Garner his senior debut for the club back in October 2019, featuring in the Europa League group stage clash with Partizan Belgrade. He also featured off the bench in the Premier League win against Crystal Palace.

"I believe he's got the chance to have a great future," Solskjaer said. "He knows we believe in him, we've got great faith in him as the next Michael Carrick.

"I know he's young and I know it's not fair on kids to compare to great players like Michael was, but he's the same mould, he plays simple passes, plays through the lines."

The midfielder turned 19 in March and MEN Sport reported a loan move is inevitable next season as the club re-plot his pathway into the first-team.

United fans agree that a temporary spell away from the club could be beneficial.

Here is what they had to say on social media:

Garner has made a huge impression on one Manchester United star in particular, with Fred naming the midfielder as the best academy prospect he's seen at the club.

He said last month: "The club has an important role in using many academy players, it has this history of using the kids that come up from the academy, it makes history at the club, and this process is important. They are great players, with a lot of potential for the future. All are very good, they are not in the first-team for nothing.

"But what impresses me most is James Garner.

"Not because he is in the same position as me, but he is a player who has an impressive vision of the game, has a huge future for United.

"In addition to the impressive game vision, he always plays with his head up, has an impressive shot, an incredible pass. He is a player that I admire a lot."
