Manchester United fans say the same thing after referee for Liverpool clash is revealed

Manchester United fans aren't happy after the Premier League revealed Martin Atkinson will be the man in charge of the weekend's crucial fixture against fierce rivals Liverpool.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men head into the game in poor form while Liverpool have a perfect record in the league so far.

Fans are concerned that the referee appointment has made United's chances of getting a positive result even slimmer.

Atkinson has issued more yellow cards (75) and red cards (6) to teams facing Liverpool than he has any side since the start of the 2009/10 Premier League season according to WhoScored.

Liverpool have also not lost a Premier League game that Atkinson has officiated since 2015. However, that defeat came against United at Anfield where Steven Gerrard was given his marching orders after coming on as a substitute.

Nevertheless, United fans are adamant that decisions won't go their way, claiming Liverpool are almost guaranteed to be awarded a penalty.
