Manchester United fans say the same thing after Harry Maguire is sent off for England

A large portion of Manchester United fans have called for Harry Maguire to be dropped for the upcoming match against Newcastle after his form went from bad to worse with a red card for England against Denmark on Wednesday.

United will return to Premier League action on Saturday following the international break and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping to see a big reaction from his players after they suffered a 6-1 hammering at the hands of Tottenham last time out.

It's been a dreadful start to the season for United which sees them down in lowly 16th place after conceding 11 goals in the opening three games.

The back-line has come under heavy scrutiny due to how many goals they've shipped with Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly all struggling for form.

Maguire has particularly come under fire as he was culpable for at least three of the six goals conceded against Spurs, and his miserable start to the campaign continued on international duty.

He was sent off in the 31st minute for the Three Lions as the match with Denmark remained goalless.

The United captain picked up his second booking in quick succession for a late lunge on Kasper Dolberg after he followed his own slack touch in the opposition's half. The first booking was also deserved with another hard and late tackle.

As a result, United fans believe that Maguire shouldn't start against Newcastle due to his continued poor run of form.

The Danes took the lead just three minutes after Maguire's dismissal after Kyle Walker gave away a penalty which was duly converted by Christian Eriksen.

The match is the third England game of the international break following the 3-0 friendly win over Wales last Thursday and the shock 2-1 Nations League victory over Belgium on Sunday.
