Manchester United fans say the same thing about Paul Pogba after France performance

Manchester United fans could not hide their awe at Paul Pogba's performance for France on Tuesday night.

Pogba was named in Didier Deschamps' starting line-up for France's final international friendly before the start of the European Championship, versus Bulgaria in Paris. Les Bleus are among the favourites to win the tournament, having lifted the World Cup back in 2018 with Pogba a star of that competition.

Pogba was instrumental against Bulgaria in the game at Stade de France, playing a number of sublime passes in an effective partnership with N'Golo Kante in Deschamps' midfield.

Antoine Griezmann's 29th minute strike secured a 1-0 half-time lead for France, with Olivier Giroud scoring two to make it 3-0 late on. But it was Pogba who took the plaudits on social media, as United fans — and other football supporters — raved about the 28-year-old's ability.

Pogba has endured an up and down time for United in the past season, occasionally starring for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side but sometimes turning in quiet displays.

But the general feeling from fans on social media was that Pogba plays better for France than for United because of the quality of players around him. This is what they said:

Pogba has lauded Deschamps' management in the past, revealing last month why he enjoys playing for the France boss so much.

He said: “If Deschamps pampers me? No, we have a relationship that was created a long time ago.

“The stick and the carrot should not be forgotten. He always told me my truths, he always pushed me to play good games, not to overdo it, to just do what I have to do.

“He was always behind me, never gave me gifts, and was always straightforward. He helped me become this leader in the France team, he gave me that confidence. I’m very grateful. I try to give everything back on the pitch.”
