Manchester United fans say same thing about Donny van de Beek's talk with Solskjaer

Manchester United fans have backed Donny van de Beek for more first-team football following his conversation with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

After scoring in the Netherlands' 1-1 draw with Spain on Wednesday evening, there were plenty of Reds fans calling for the summer signing to feature more in Solskjaer's first-team plans.

The 23-year-old is yet to start a Premier League game for United following his summer move from Ajax and he revealed after the international friendly that Solskjaer has urged him to remain patient.

Van de Beek also said he feels like first-team chances are not far away, which led to praise from Reds fans.

Fans on the MEN's Facebook page were also complimentary towards the Dutch midfielder, arguing that the former Ajax star needs to bed in at Old Trafford rather than being handed immediate first-team chances.

Stew Turner said: "VDB will get his chance and he seems to me to be a good natured guy with a great outlook on his situation. Very mature and hopefully he'll live up to his word and be ready. Great positive attitude."

His attitude was also praised by Luke Broughton, who said: "Glad he cleared that up for everyone. You can’t just throw all new players into a team, in a new country and tough league. He’ll earn his way in."

Van de Beek has insisted he will be patient at Old Trafford and said he is simply enjoying the environment at United currently.

"It sounds cliché for me to say this, because of course I would have liked to play more, but I really enjoy being in a nice team. I am simply received very well and helped by everyone," Van de Beek told NOS .

"I'm a patient person, but of course you go there to play as much as possible. I also think – in the minutes that I have made, in the times that I have come in – I have shown that I can add something to the team."
