Manchester United fans react to referee appointment for Southampton clash

Manchester United fans have reacted to the news that Mike Dean will be the man in the middle for their next Premier League fixture against Southampton.

United travel to St. Mary's on Saturday, August 31 looking to bounce back with a positive result following last week's defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.

However, they were not pleased with the news that Dean will be officiating the encounter with Michael Oliver acting as the VAR official.

Dean made Premier League history back in April when he sent off Manchester United defender Ashley Young during the game against Wolves - becoming the first referee to ever show 100 red cards in the Premier League.

It was the second time that Young was given his marching orders by the 50-year-old.

Manchester United fans have took to social media to express their frustration at the appointment ahead of a crucial game.
