Manchester United fans have been reacting on social media to the news that Axel Tuanzebe will captain the Reds for the first time.
The defender was handed the armband against Rochdale as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to make nine changes from the side that was beaten by West Ham United at the weekend.
Solskjaer named another youthful team for United's League Cup opener but was unable to call on Angel Gomes following his cameo appearance at the London Stadium.
Gomes, along with Marcus Rashford and Diogo Dalot, is sidelined with an injury.
Sergio Romero starts in goal for the match with David de Gea rested, while Academy youngster Brandon Williams has been named on the bench as he makes a senior match-day squad for the first time.
However, there was only one name dominating Twitter before kick-off and that was Tuanzebe, with United supporters delighted to see him get the armband.
Deserved.
