Manchester United fans react as Fred and McTominay start vs Aston Villa

Manchester United fans have reacted to the news that Scott McTominay and Fred start together in midfield against Aston Villa this afternoon.

United play host to the Midlands outfit in a lunch-time kick-off as they look to get back to winning ways following their Carabao Cup exit in midweek, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made 11 changes to the team that starts today.

David De Gea keeps his place in goal after Dean Henderson returned against West Ham, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw start in defence. McTominay and Fred partner each other in the central midfield positions, meaning no place for Nemanja Matic or Donny Van de Beek while Paul Pogba starts on the left wing.

Jadon Sancho drops to the bench, with Mason Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo completing the lineup. Edinson Cavani returns to the bench for the first time since the 1-0 win over Wolves before the international break.

Here's how Manchester United fans reacted to the team news on social media.

The Reds will be hopeful of securing a victory to keep their unbeaten start to the Premier League going, with at least one of Chelsea or Man City due to drop points as they face each other.

United XI: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka, Shaw, Maguire, Varane, Fred, McTominay, Fernandes, Pogba, Greenwood, Ronaldo. Subs : Heaton, Lindelof, Dalot, Lingard, Matic, Van de Beek, Sancho, Martial, Cavani.
