Manchester United fans react as Anthony Elanga scores double on international duty

Anthony Elanga has got the Manchester United fanbase dreaming of another superstar in the making.

The young forward scored twice for Sweden's Under-21's against Montenegro in a 3-1 win on Friday night, making it four goals in his last three caps. That's in addition to a goal for the Manchester United first-team against Wolves on the final day of last season, before pre-season goals against Queens Park Rangers and Brentford too.

Elanga picked up a minor injury which saw him miss the start of the season but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted to not loan him out and instead keep him in and around the first team. That seems to be having an effect as he continues to improve.

His first goal of the game on Friday came with a wonderful curled effort from the edge of the box through a crowd of players into the bottom corner, before his second came as he raced onto a clipped pass over the top of the defence before slotting through the goalkeeper's legs.

United fans reacted to the goals with excitement, claiming that the famous Carrington academy may have another star on their hands.

The 19-year-old will be hopeful of getting some first-team minutes between now and January with the transfer window closed, and could find himself in the squad for the Carabao Cup clash against West Ham later this month.
