Manchester United fans react angrily to Daniel James transfer rumour

Manchester United fans have slammed reports that Daniel James could leave the club on loan if Jadon Sancho is signed in the upcoming transfer window.

The Borussia Dortmund star is a priority target for United on the back of a sensational season in the Bundesliga. Sancho is expected to play on the right of a forward three if he moves to Old Trafford which could see James' game time reduced significantly next season.

James has made 37 appearances in all competitions this season following a summer move from Swansea, scoring four and assisting seven during his debut campaign.

The Sun report that United have been impressed with his progress this season and plan to reward the 22-year-old with a bumper new contract.

However, they claim United are considering sending James out on loan if Sancho joins in the summer.

United fans believe that James has a role to play even if the England international is signed and believe he should not be allowed to leave under any circumstances.

James is expected to remain an important member of the team when United return to Premier League action in the coming weeks.

The Welshman believes that United can be contenders for the title next season with their injured players back at full fitness.

He said: "I think next season is obviously massive for us, we’ve had quite a few boys injured, a few long-term obviously at different times, Marcus [Rashford], Paul [Pogba] and Scott [McTominay].

"I think once we get them all back and everyone is back together, I think with the rotation of the squad we’ve got a great chance of challenging for that title next season."
